The Gloopie Lore

The entities known as Gloopie are an amorphous like organism that's taken a shape of 6 psuedo-like appendages.

The true origins of the Gloopies exist far beyond our own universe. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... There existed a planet known as [Insert planet name here] that serves as the home planet for Gloopies but before they were Gloopies, they were... GLOOPS! The planet first formed and had taken the time to cool down and have a Earth-like atmosphere to exist. The first organisms were unlike our own. Instead of millions of different kind of microorganisms species existing, very few existed that populated most of the planet's primordial ocean.

There were known as Primordial Gloops; they are small colorless organisms resembling to that of a blob. They are transparent but do contain organelles similarly to a single-celled organism. They behave very similarly to very early microorganisms that existed on our Earth. But, the primordial gloops have a very different strategy of evolving. Instead of asexual or sexual reproduction, competing with different species of gloops, they instead "merge" with them when they come into contact. By this process, they gain complexity towards their functions and able to gain nutrients more effectively.

Due note, gloops are known to have a rather slow metabolism. This causes them to move rather slowly to their environment. They remain like this over the course of the entire evolution line. They also have a short lifespan to due the characteristic of its body.

However, these functions only last throughout that gloop's lifespan. An interesting observation on these gloops is that they have no way of having neither asexual or sexual reproduction. Preventing them of carrying their gene pool to the next generations. However, They have a very different way of replication. A process known as "Gloop Implosion". This process causes the gloop to essentially die and their bodies to split off into smaller versions of itself. Carrying on as the next generation. Due to this unique way of reproduction, the only way for a gloop to create new kinds of gloops is to merge with different kind of gloops and killing itself, creating copies of itself while carrying those additional functions that they gained by merging.

Over the course of millennia, the first true gloop was born; Ocean Gloops. these gloops live an abundant of their lifespan in the ocean. Usually, consuming nutrients near volcanic vents or by eating existing nutrients within the ocean. As they have become far more complex from their ancestors, primordial gloops, they simply absrob them whole without merging with them. However, the process of merging with different ocean gloops does occur. The process of evolutions continues through these processes.

Given a vast amount of time, a new gloop was born; Land Gloops, by evolving a stronger membrane and some level of motor coordination, the land gloops began to move from the ocean to land. Those with higher photosynthesis functions became into the planet's equivalents of plants and trees. Known as Plant Gloop. Remaining stationary most of their time, they areable to move slowly to relocate should their environment doesn't support them anymore. Moving almost akin to that of Echinoidea. Examples being starfish, sea dollar or sea urchin.

There is also a different kind of Land Gloops, they possess a thinner membrane and they contain air sacs filled with elements lighter than the atmosphere. These allow the land gloops to "hover" across lands, gaining nutrients by absorbing the excess nutrient produced by the plant gloops. These kind of gloops are able to travel far across the expansive lands, slowly populating the planet. They also carry smaller versions of the plant gloops which began to grow onto the lands. Enriching the whole planet with life.

As the Land Gloops populated the land, a newer type of gloop was born; Sky Gloops. They evolved from the hovering land gloops to live the entirety of their lives in the sky. Having the capabilites to sustain themvelves in the sky, they lived out their entire lives in the sky floating around the planet. The only time when they land is when they reached the end of their lifespan, their body will slowly degrade and implode.

These are the three classes of gloops. There are different variants of these gloops. Being just a tad different from each other but similar in color.

The Life Cycle of a Gloop

  • Every gloops start from a recent death by a gloop through the process of a Gloop Implosion.
  • A newborn gloop will continue its life similarly to a fully grown gloop
  • Newborn gloops are genetically identical to the gloop that went through the process of a Gloop Implosion
  • As the gloop grows and ages, it will merge with other gloops, this will alter the gloop's genetic code, actively evolving through emergence.
  • When the gloop reaches its lifespan, it will go through the process of a Gloop Implosion and carry on a new generation of gloops.

Chracteristics of Gloops

Gloop are large single-celled organisms that works similarly to a valonia ventricosa; a single-celled algae that exist within the ocean.
