This is a guide to setting up your OBS with Resonite step-by-step. This can work with either OBS Studio or Streamlabs, as they both have similar ways of doing this.

If you are looking to integrate Twitch with Resonite, see How To Setup Twitch With Resonite.

Software Setup

  1. Go to either OBS Studio or Streamlabs and download the software.
  2. Install the software, then open it.
  3. Setup the scene:
    1. On the bottom left, there are panels, one is labeled "scenes". If there is no scene here, use the Plus button to add one.
    2. Make sure the scene is selected.
  4. Setup the sources:
    1. On the bottom left, there are panels, one is labeled "Sources". If there is no sources here, use the Plus button to add one.
    2. Use Window Capture or Game Capture as your source for Resontie. It is advised to NOT use Display capture due to the fact that if Resonite gets closed, your desktop will be shown to your recording or stream.
  5. (Optional) Set up microphone input and output for individual scenes:
    1. Disable all audio (in Settings -> Audio -> Global Audio Devices)
    2. In a desired Scene, Add a Microphone Input Capture for your desired microphone.
    3. In a desired Scene (if you want the desktop audio), Add a Microphone Output Capture and leave it as default.
  6. (For OBS) Go to Tools -> WebSocket Server Settings:
    1. Make sure "Enable WebSocket server" is enabled.
    2. Make sure the server port is 4455.
    3. Make sure "Enabled Authentication" is disabled.

Resonite Setup

  1. Open Resonite
  2. Spawn a Stream Camera.
    1. There is an OBS Settings button that opens the panel, revealing OBS connection settings.
    2. Click the "Connect" button.
