"An elevator named after the native species can be seen in the distance, rising from that city. Among practical uses a high atmosphere brings, such as docking, scientific studies, and restocking, this wonder has become a tourist attraction. Plans are in motion for an observation deck to be installed, allowing "A-vali" eyed view of the planet, where you can see what has been done, and still needs to be done, to revitalize Pleiascio."
Sola'mari
(Cicatricem kavivica)
"The "Scar Revivers" as they have come to be known as. This planet was left for dead, doomed to be the equivalent of a massive asteroid when cursory pings from the I.F. were starting to return! Chalked up to some nuclear communication equipment that was leaking radiation, a clean up crew was sent out. They did not find what they were anticipating."
"Upon arrival to this gash in the planet's surface the crew discovered not a radiation leak. But instead life! A world teeming with flora, and a new species! A society dug into the walls, lips of ground used to deflect radiation from the river below. The species, who called themselves the Sola'mari, welcomed the clean up crew. Reports sent back to the I.F. would bring more crews back to this Critter Canyon, where work along with the Sola'mari would clean up this planet, and help it on its path to healing."
"A bipedal species, their body is designed for jumping, as evidenced by their thighs and legs. Useful for scaling the canyone sides, they began burrowing holes and dens. As a result, they have become a burrowing species, despite having no natural digging advantage. It all comes from tools they developed. They have since become a mining species, which comes to fuel their export. A peaceful, agricultural species, they've been found to establish a great relationship with hobkins. It is thought to relate to their biological similarities and overall disposition, despite being entirely different species."
Pleiascio
Planet 314-AHPS-35-9
Name: Pleiascio
"In the current time, much of this once lush planet is still barren, recovering from the battles of the past. Munnitions and magic of various degrees, from various sources, stripped this planet to its bare form. Luckily(?), there was no intelligent life to be found pre-war, thus it was designated no-man'd land, marking it involuntarily for destruction. However, it has begun rebounding, with help from the native species, and the I.F."
The I.F.
The I.F.
Interspecies Federation
"Founded two centuries ago during an interstellar war, the Interspecies Federation is a collective of dozens of races from across the galaxy and beyond. The goal of the I.F. is to broker peace between all species and find common ground for growth and development. As such, technology has exponentially grown for all species involved. This canyon is one of many havens founded by the I.F., on one of the planets ravaged by war as a reminder of how far all of these species have come."
Critter Canyon
C.C.
"Critter Canyon The canyon you find yourself in was populated by only Sola'mari. The holes you see ahead are where some lived. It wasn't until the I.F. arrived, that this structure was set up. Taking inspiration from Avali, this structure was set along the canyon walls, elevated off the ground. Further engineering with input from other races bring it to where it is today."
Xyst River
"Deep at the bottom of the canyon rests a river of purple liquid. While the sight is something beautiful to behold, this liquid is actually a byproduct of nuclear waste created by the immense war that ravaged the planet. But don't worry, the Avali and Protogen worked together to remove all traces of pollution and harmful particles from the waters and make a clean environment! You could even go swimming, however most choose not to for rather obvious reasons."
Crystals
The Crystals of Pleiascio
"Crystals formed deep in the crust of Pleiascio, seeded from energy left from the Hobkins. The particles congregated together, fusing, and then growing! Eventually, they breached the ground, where you can now see them. These formations continue to grow, fed by the planet."
Flora Info
Heliona spiricarva - "A gorgeous specimen, it was discovered this plant doesn’t photosynthesize, even facing away from the sun! Further analysis discovered the plant ‘photosynthesizes’ off the energy left by Hobkins centuries ago. As a result it always faces inward, toward concentrations of energy stored away beneath the planet’s crust."
Caboulbu filamentum - "A cactus like plant, the blubs store water inside. Over generations of evolution, the bulbs have become sturdy and hard, to keep organisms from piercing it to the reach the water stored inside. The stems along the plant filter contaminants from the water very effectively, further dissuading predators with the toxins inevitably stored inside."
Leacious pleniforum - "A tropical plant, or it would be. Before the cleanup of the planet, this tree was found near areas of high energy, where the air was much warmer than average. It flourished under these conditions, spanning rings and rings of leaves. The subspecies you see before you were cultivated from an extinct species to be a more manageable size, to fit here in the Critter Canyon."
Topisca abrellu - "The 'leaves' on these trees have been used by the Sola'mari as visors and umbrellas. The ends of the branches flair out into these circular blossoms. The blue is the blossom. The purple and yellow surrounding it is actually the leaf structure. The blossoms follow the sun, reminiscent of another species of another world."
Celescia thungliga - "The Sola'mari had fun when they stumbled upon this plant. The cotton like cloud top generates an electric charge as a defense mechanism to keep organisms away from its nutrient rich stem. The Sola'mari would play practical jokes on each other with it. Beyond said jokes, they have a practical use for it. Due to its ability to charge, they've used this plant as a battery. The process has been further refined by Protogens and other visiting species."
Kristilasia swenerria - "The diamond like fruit this plant bears is incredibly sweet. As a result. it's been cultivated by the Sola'mari for its sugar. The bigger the fruit, the sweeter it tastes. However, it requires tremendous effort and upkeep to get such large fruits. The age of the plant can be determined by the stack like rings leading up to the fruit."
