Dawn Sky

From Resonite Wiki
Many elements of the skybox

Used in most of the official Resonite home worlds, such as the Resonite Cloud Home, Avatar Gazebo and the tutorial. Moving the sun is done with the The Sun Gun rather than the Light Tool as it updates a dynamic variable that also updates a lot of other skybox elements.

It has some fun features, such as being able to drag the moon in front of the sun to create a solar eclipse.

There are two versions: "Dawn Sky" and "Dawn Sky V2". V2 has improved performance and updated visuals. And is the default on the current version of the cloud home. To upgrade to current version, see: Resonite Cloud Home#Updating your copy

Copying to new World

An installable version is planned, however for now It can be copied from the cloud home. To do so the steps are roughly:

  • Go to the Cloud Home.
  • Create an object such as a cube and scale down to a manageable size. Open an inspector on the cube.
  • Open an inspector, go to world root and find the 'Dawn Sky V2' slot. Drag this slot into the cube's slot.
  • Save the cube to your inventory. Open/switch to the world you want to move it to and spawn the cube back out.
  • This should put a copy of the Dawn Sky in the world, but it may be messy.
  • Open an inspector on both the cube and root of the new world, drag the Dawn Sky slot into the root of the new world.
  • Select the Dawn Sky slot and use the buttons to reset scale/rotation/etc.
  • Under the ''Skybox component' slot of dawn sky, find and press the "Set Active Skybox" button.
  • Test everything works and enjoy.

Most of the items under 'Skybox Items' can be disabled if you wish to simplify or remove elements. The dull thuds that can be heard for example are the 'Beam Towers'.

Dynamic variables

Some of the world variables include:

  • The position of the sun.
  • High/Low detail mode that disables a number of elements.
  • Many others.

Editor notes:

  • What elements have bad performance in v1?
  • Differences between V1 and V2?
  • List of only required items.
