{{TranscriptionSegment|essentially just defined like there's|07:43}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like a um well there's like a multiple|07:44}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|things the data model data types they|07:48}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|need to have like uh certain functions|07:51}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|defined for them in the coder class uh|07:53}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|notably like you know serialization so|07:56}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|they can be encoded over network and|07:58}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|they also can be persisted and there's|08:01}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like a few other operations um they also|08:02}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|they want but the important thing is|11:15}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|figuring out what they need because what|11:18}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|they want and what they need might be|11:20}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|very different things. Um, and actually|11:22}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|to give you an example, this this comes|11:26}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like very from a project I did like|11:27}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|really long time ago, like when I got|11:30}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|into like contracts of their|11:32}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|development. Um, and it's been like over|11:33}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|a decade ago, like over a decade ago.|11:37}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|like I had like somebody come to me and|11:41}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|they like they they wanted me to like|11:43}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|make a script that would like automate|11:45}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|and they wanted like I want to like you|11:53}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|know click things and like you know you|11:54}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|do this thing and then it like clicks|11:56}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|the UI and it just like you know sort of|11:57}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|automates it and organizes and it saves|11:59}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|like and they and then then plays it and|12:05}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|I was like why do you need that like you|12:07}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|know like and they needed to like you do|12:10}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|some kind of like test signals and I was|12:12}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|I could just make program that just|12:16}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|generates the signals with the|12:17}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|parameters you want like you know|12:19}}

{{TranscriptionSegment|possible. Um, so like like doing that.|12:24}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|Um, and as you know, the thing is like|12:29}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|sometimes people ask you for like|12:31}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|specific thing that they think they|12:33}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|need, you know, but it's something they|12:35}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|want, but what they actually need is|12:37}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|might be something bit different. Um,|12:39}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|and often times there's like, you know,|12:42}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|lots of different ways to solve the|12:43}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|problem. So the big part of like|12:44}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|processing feedback is you know trying|12:46}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|to like step back and look at the big|12:48}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|picture of it. It also comes into play|12:51}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|because like we get lots of requests.|12:53}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|There's like a lot of them. Um|12:55}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|and there's|12:59}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like the job is like you know figuring|13:02}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|out how to kind of reconcilate all of|13:04}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|that together. So for example looking at|13:05}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|any common patterns are there things|13:07}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|that people might be different kinds of|13:09}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|requests but is there like an underlying|13:11}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|problem that like you know people are|13:13}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like running into that could be solved|13:15}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|by like a general system and it's one of|13:17}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|the things we want to try to do as much|13:19}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|as possible is because people will have|13:21}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|thousands like literally thousands or|13:24}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|dozens of thousands of like you know|13:26}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|little things they will want changed or|13:28}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|updated or improved and that's just not|13:30}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|going to be enough time to like do all|13:33}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|of those.|13:34}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|um you know so that's usually not the|13:36}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|right approach but if we can figure out|13:39}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|you know what's the underlying kind of|13:41}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|problem for all of those requests we can|13:43}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|figure out general systems which will|13:45}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|address like you know a huge chunk of|13:48}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|them in like one swoop rather than doing|13:50}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|it you know like rather than like doing|13:54}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|every like individual one um and it kind|13:56}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|of sometimes kind of creates a bit of|14:00}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like issue because like we tell people|14:01}}
{{TranscriptionSegment|like to wait for this big system but|14:02}}
