About
Amaster's World Jumper is a item made by AmasterAmaster. It is a simple UIX Panel with buttons that do different things in relation to worlds and session IDs. There is also a set of text fields used to store and set previous session IDs using the cloud.
Uses
This item was created as a way to make traveling between worlds easier, and can be equipped (or at least parented) to the avatar for ease of use.
Inspiration
This was inspired by Virgil's teleporters that took you to different worlds using session IDs, mainly the stargate and avali teleporters. Following that, Virgil has made a world browser searcher that is similar to this, and both this item and that browser are used in tandem by the community for world hopping.
How To Use
The world jumper gadget is made of many different parts (text fields and buttons), and each part of it has a function and use.
Safety Button
This toggles the entire gadget, pressing this hides it so you don't accidentally press the buttons that would otherwise take you to another world unintentionally.
Jump To Text Field
This is the target session ID that allows the user to either open or focus to that world.
World Buttons
This is a row of buttons that do different things, here is what they do (from left to right):
- A toggle button showing the world close icon, when active it will make the user close this current world after they jump to a new one.
- A toggle button showing a world with a lock, when active it will make the world private when opening a world.
- A toggle button showing a world with a magnifying glass, when active it will make the user auto focus the newly opened world.
- A button showing a world with a cloud, when pressed it will load all the stored session IDs from a cloud variable, parsed into the correct text fields.
- A button showing a world with an up arrow, when pressed it will set the current world's Session ID into the "Jump To" text field.
- A button showing a world and a floppy disk, when pressed it will save all the session IDs from all the text fields and store them into a cloud variable for the user.
Jump Buttons
This is a row of buttons that lets the user either open or focus a world, here is what they do (from left to right):
- A button showing a world and a plus sign, when pressed it will open the world using the session ID in the "Jump To" text field.
- A button showing a large right arrow, when pressed it will make the user focus into the world that matches the session ID in the "Jump To" text field.
World Information
This is a section on the world jumper that gives the user information about the world:
- World Access Level shows the current world's restriction set by the host/admins of the world, to determine who can access this world.
- Time in World shows how long the local user has been in this world.
- Status shows the progress of opening/focusing the world (usually updated after pressing one of the Jump Buttons).
- Ping shows the local user's current ping in the world.
Stored Session IDs
This section is the user's personal stored world sessions, which can be populated and can also be saved using the world buttons. This is handy to carry and quickly copy and paste from one field to another.
