From Resonite Wiki
A ResoCast radio transmitter playing ResoniteFM

ResoCast is a system designed to interface with and play internet radio streams. It is designed to be easily set up in any world.

It uses Dynamic Variables to transmit music and other stream metadata to any speakers in the world.

ResoCast was created by Anquietas System.

Usage

Transmitters

To use the ResoCast radio system, you first need to spawn a Transmitter, and a Radio Cartridge to listen to.

By placing the cartridge into the transmitter, it will begin streaming the music from the selected station. If it is set up to, it can also get the metadata of the currently playing track. This will ask you for Host Access.

Receivers

Once you have a transmitter running, placing any receivers in the world will cause them to relay the same music as the transmitter. They will display the active metadata and music. If you have more than one transmitter in a world, because of how Dynamic Variables work, all receivers will only play the music from the most recently grabbed transmitter.

Setting up a new station

To add a custom station to a ResoCast cartridge, you must have the direct stream link, (usually a link ending in .mp3, .ogg, or some other audio format, or sometimes just a direct link.) and the name of the station.

The inputs can be found on the reverse side of the cartridge.

Put the stream URL into the respective slot, then the name, then choose a color for the station so it can stand out in your inventory. Test it in a transmitter to make sure it works.

Additionally, if the station you are adding is using AzuraCast, you can use the special cartridge in the folder, and it will automatically gather metadata information.
