Pre-requisites
Software
There are two main ways to go about hosting a headless.
The easiest way is through Docker. With this one, you just have to pull one image, set some variables, and done. You can see more about this one the Docker setup page.
If you want to run the headless on bare metal, Ubuntu or Debian are your best options in terms of friendlyness.
Hardware
Since the move to .NET 8, then .NET 9, the headless can run well on a lot of hardware.
Generally, something equivalent to a Hetzner CX22
could be enough for a small personal session.
I personally use a CCX33
for larger sessions (20+ people) which runs really well.
