You may want to clear your cache for different reasons:

  1. To save drive space - This is fine carry on
  2. To fix an issue - Make sure you've tried other other troubleshooting steps first.

Warning!

Every world, item, or other things saved locally to your machine will be PERMANENTLY erased! As well as any non-synced items!

Please make sure all your digital belongings are safely saved to the cloud before continuing, as anything saved to your Local Home will be deleted.

Instructions

Once you've acknowledged the warnings, and know exactly what you will be doing, you may proceed with these steps:

  1. Push Windows Key + R
  2. Type/Copy this %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\Yellow Dog Man Studios\Resonite into the Run box that appears
  3. Press Enter or the Ok button
  4. Select the "Cache" folder
  5. Hold Shift and then press Delete. (This forces Windows to skip the recycle bin as the cache can be quite large and is comprised of temporary files.)

And you are done! Upon opening Resonite again the folder will regenerate and populate as needed.

Instructions (cont.)

  • There is a small chance that repeating the process of deleting the cache multiple times over a long time span can have a potential effect that hurts Resonite's loading time performance, making assets incredibly slow to load. If you wish to fix this problem you may need to delete a second folder containing your User Data in along with the first Cache location.

By following the instructions below, you'll be required to log into your account again when booting Resonite, as well as end up encountering the tutorial again. You can skip the intro tutorial with the following launch command -SkipIntroTutorial

The same warnings above apply, only proceed once you know what you are doing.

  1. Open the Run dialogue with Windows Key + R again
  2. Type/Copy this %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Yellow Dog Man Studios into the Run box
  3. Press Enter or the Ok button
  4. Select the "Resonite" folder
  5. Hold Shift and press Delete

Regularly doing this?

You should ideally, NOT be doing this regularly. If it's to save drive space then you may want to consider relocating your Resonite folders. However if its to resolve another issue that regularly occurs, please ask in the Discord or open a bug on our issue tracker.
