About
Amaster's Modified Ultra Tool is a item made by AmasterAmaster. It is a multitool that combines the uses of the Dev Tool, ProtoFlux Tool, and Material Tool. This multitool can be treated like any other dev tool most of the time.
Inspiration
This was inspired by the original ultratool from the previous platform prior to Resonite. That old ultratool gave AmasterAmaster the idea to make a "modern" version of it. It had two sides, a dev tool side that showed the inspector and made the tool purple, then twisting your hand while still equipped will activate the flux tool side that contains the old node browser and made the tool green.
The old ultratool had a lock to keep the selected tool and still allowed to rotate your hand freely, and had a convenient clear selection button.
How To Use
The modern ultra tool has a few features that will be listed here, but in most cases you can treat this like an advanced dev tool.
Node Browser
The attached node browser is Senko's Node Browser, a custom node browser that makes searching for nodes easier. This is further modified by AmasterAmaster to try to add search functionality, using Cyro's cherry pick mod. This however did not work, making this a proof of concept of what it could be if that did work.
Material Holders
This tool has 6 material orb slots surrounding the dev tool, used for holding and moving with material orbs easily around the world. The 6 squares are previews of what is contained in that material orb slot. These previews will update when a new material orb enters the adjacent material orb slot.
Controls
Any controls that do different functions on this tool will be listed here:
- Using the trackpad (currently Index only, but more controller support coming soon), will rotate the material orb slots in the direction on where you rest your thump on the trackpad. The further away from the center of the track pad, the faster it will spin in that direction.
Context Menu Buttons
The tool provides you the following controls and extra features:
- Spawning out a custom inspector that attaches to the tool, allowing for quick access and selection of slots.
- A reverse rotation toggle for the material orb slots (for user preference).
- A toggle to make gizmoless selections (best paired with the custom inspector), allowing for better performance and quicker development.
